Welcome
to Leatherhead
Leatherhead
lies just off the M25 at the gateway to the
Surrey Hills and is halfway between Heathrow and Gatwick Airports,
with a fast and frequent train service to Central London. As such,
its strategic location has made it a favored
location for the numerous
businesses that occupy the nine Business Parks located on the outskirts
of the town that employ upwards of 10,000 people. However, the town
itself offers a very wide range of shops and services.
Leatherhead is an attractive
Surrey town with a
pedestrian's
centre offering shoppers a wide
range of retail outlets, including major names such as Sainsburys,
Boots, Next, Dorothy Perkins etc. The centre hosts a popular twice
weekly street market as well as regular Craft and English Producers
markets.
On the leisure front, the town offers an excellent choice of restaurants
and pubs and the Leatherhead Leisure Centre is widely know for the
quality and range of its sporting and recreational facilities.
The River Mole is a particularly attractive feature of the town,
surrounded by Green Belt countryside, much of it designated as an
Area of Outstanding National Beauty. Nearby are National Trust attractions
such as Box Hill and the nationally-known mansion of Polesden Lacey.
Leatherhead's location also means that London's bright lights and
cultural scene and the Sussex coast are both easily reached.
